In Excel, the earliest date allowed for calculation is 1. january 1900. In Oracle database, the earliest date is 1. junuary 4712 BC.
In Oracle E-Bussines Suite some dates is seeded with dates around 2000 years old… – valid but not very likely to be serious.
When xls4Oracle tries to put an Oracle date before 1. january 1900 into Excel, the xls4Oracle tool generates a program error. To workaround this issue, the parameter “Date As String” can be checked, and all dates will be handled as string. This means, you can not calculate on them and the Excel filter will not do the date grouping (year, month, date, hour, min, sec).
